Samui’s Big Buddha is the most impressive religious monument on the island. Located in a temple – Wat Phra Yai - set on a small rocky island linked to Samui by a bridge, this 12m statue represents Buddha in the Mara posture. Originally built in 1972, it went through renovation at the end of the ‘90s, and a Dharma wheel was added.
Golf
For the golf nut, what could be more apt than a stunning highlands course set amidst a preserved coconut palm plantation? It’s difficult to imagine a more beautiful setting – rolling greens marked by painted coconuts, sunlight streaming through a canopy of palms, views stretching out to Koh Phangan Island.
Yachting
Cruising aboard a private yacht affords the opportunity of exploring exciting new destinations amidst luxury, style, and total privacy. Aboard your own yacht you really can take each day as it comes.
Snorkelling
A couple of good recommendations for snorkelling right off the beach are Coral Cove and Crystal Bay where you will encounter a large number of underwater sea creatures. Arguably one of the most beautiful places on earth, Angthong National Marine Park, the coral gardens are second to no other places in the gulf of Siam.
SPA & Wellness
The island now boasts of having many excellent spas that can truly be referred to as ‘world-class’. From aromatic steam baths through to herbal body-masques, these health centre retreats offer the utmost in rejuvenating body/beauty treatments – all in total luxury and comfort.
Cuisine
Koh Samui’s gastronomic scene is an inspiring example of honest collaboration and deep-rooted dedication to local flavours. Despite fierce competition, chefs around the island collaborate with each other, and their restaurants compose a harmonious foodscape of flavours, cuisines and approaches, from international gourmet delicacies to simple yet irresistible grilled seafood.
